A house fire that seriously damaged a home in the unit block of Sullivan Dr. behind the Gateway shopping Center in Tredyffrin late Tuesday morning did not cause any injuries, but firefighters did rescue dogs from the home.

The fire was reported when a passing neighbor and her son called it in.

"We were driving by and my son Christian yelled, Mom there's smoke pouring out of that house," said Christine Morrow "He called 911, there were windows popping out of the house, it was scary. It's a good thing he probably saved those dogs."

Berwyn Deputy Chief Wayne Riddle said firefighters arrived to find a kitchen fire with smoke throughout the house.

One dog ran out when police forced open the door, the second dog was brought to Lafayette Paramedics who administered oxygen. The township animal warden transported him to Devon Animal Hospital.
